The Hygiene Awareness Program for 200 Families, implemented by Elite Star Foundation in Zamfara State, is designed to improve household health through practical hygiene education, water and sanitation awareness, and the distribution of essential hygiene supplies. The project has a total fundraising goal of $2,000, with the current GlobalGiving project page showing $1 raised from 2 donors and $1,999 remaining.
Despite the limited funds raised so far, the project remains important because vulnerable families continue to face preventable illnesses associated with poor hygiene, unsafe water, sanitation challenges, and inadequate household cleaning supplies. The planned intervention will provide interactive training on handwashing, sanitation, water safety, and food hygiene, alongside household hygiene kits containing soap and cleaning materials. Local volunteers will also conduct follow-ups to encourage families to maintain the practices introduced during the awareness sessions.
Financially, the project is currently at the early fundraising stage, with approximately 0.05% of the $2,000 target raised and 99.95% still required to fully implement the planned activities. Continued donor support is therefore critical to enable Elite Star Foundation to reach the targeted 200 families and deliver the intended health and hygiene benefits.
