Hydrate Pakistan: A Rural Water Revolution
Solar-Powered Boreholes “Aab-e-Nemat”
From Dawood Global Foundation
Dawood Global Foundation is proud to share the success of its ongoing initiative, “Aab-e-Nemat”, which is delivering clean, safe, and sustainable drinking water through solar-powered boreholes to water-stressed rural communities in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. These systems are directly improving the lives of over 5,300 individuals by providing long-term access to safe water, reducing waterborne illnesses, increasing school attendance—especially among girls—and enabling small-scale farming and kitchen gardening. With solar-powered infrastructure designed for a lifespan of over 25 years, this project represents a vital step in building climate resilience in some of Pakistan’s most vulnerable regions.
This impact has only been possible thanks to the generous contributions of individual donors who have made these boreholes a reality. As we look to expand the Aab-e-Nemat program to 100 boreholes nationwide, particularly in Interior Sindh, we invite you to join this life-changing movement. If you or someone you know would like to fund a solar-powered borehole and directly uplift an entire community, please contact Dawood Global Foundation. Together, we are bringing dignity, health, and hope—one drop at a time.
