The Dawood Global Foundation is pleased to share the impact of its initiative “Aab-e-Nemat,” which is providing clean and reliable drinking water to water-scarce rural communities in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan through solar-powered boreholes. These systems are helping transform daily life for more than 5,300 residents by ensuring consistent access to safe water. The availability of clean water is reducing waterborne diseases, supporting better hygiene, improving school attendance, particularly for girls—and enabling families to grow small kitchen gardens and engage in basic farming activities. Designed with durable solar-powered technology that can last over 25 years, the project is also strengthening climate resilience in remote and vulnerable regions.

This meaningful progress has been made possible through the generosity of individual donors who believe in creating lasting change. As we plan to expand the Aab-e-Nemat initiative to 100 solar-powered boreholes across Pakistan, especially in Interior Sindh, we invite compassionate supporters to become part of this transformative effort. By sponsoring a borehole, donors can directly provide a sustainable source of clean water to an entire community.
