Unity in Disasters, along with our community impact partner (NACC) and their feeding team, provided over 9,000 hot meals from October 17-29, 2024. Unity in Disasters provided and distributed 1,101 hot meals from October 3-19, 2024, for Hurricane Milton and helped an additional 375 families affected by Hurricane Helene with essential items such as diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, and adult diapers, for an estimated total of $22,500.
Unity in Disasters provided 165 Thanksgiving dinners for over 75 displaced families. In December, we provided hygiene kits and cleaning supplies for over 320 people during a community church event in Wimauma, FL, for an estimated total of $4,500.
From November 1, 2024, to present, Unity in Disasters has assisted an additional 57 families, including 53 children and 150 adults. Our assistance consisted of gift cards ($200.00 each) and supplies for minor home repairs, for an estimated total of $14,000. Unity in Disasters has budgeted $3,600 to assist 12 families in Pinellas County, FL with move-in expenses and/or security deposits.
