Good afternoon veteran team sponsors.
We have decided to shift our focus to our friends, neighbors and families in the Bahamian islands of Abaco and Freeport (Grand Bahama), along with a few smaller neighboring islands as we feel the coastline of the Carolina's is doing alot better and is safe. We accomplished a lot in two weeks.
To put things to scale: the impact we saw with Hurricane Michael in 2018 within the Panhandle of Florida can easily be assessed at three times the damage in the Bahamas.
The larger difference maker is that this small chain of islands does not have a economy structured enough to pull the tens of thousands of islanders lives back together as quickly. That means that with their own economy it could take a decade or so to rebuild the homes, hospitals, roads and all infrastructure (assuming no other storms come along).
We have been in talks with the Bahamian government and are prepared to be a bridge that shortens that time span for them. We are ready to haul necessary goods and some services to the islands to let them know that our veteran team, corporations and partners care!
