Humans in the Loop is an award-winning organization which provides upskilling opportunities and remote work to conflict-affected and displaced people. To date, we have supported over 1000 people affected by conflict to develop the skills needed to find online work through training and career support. By donating to Humans in the Loop, you support us to deliver much needed digital and language skills courses including English, basic I.T, programming and graphic design to our global community.
The World Bank estimates that around 1.8 billion people live in fragile/conflict-affected environments, while 90 million people are currently displaced as refugees. For individuals in these locations, the global digital economy has an enormous potential to positively impact their livelihoods, but it is difficult for people with no experience, lack of English, or lower skill levels to start working online.
We identified the need for comprehensive digital work training coupled with easy, accessible digital jobs that can be a first step into remote work. Our hybrid social enterprise - for-profit company and charitable foundation - offers a full cycle of support. Our foundation leads trainings in the skills needed to find online work, and our company then provides successful graduates with online remote work. To date, more than 1000 people have received work and/or training opportunities with us.
In the past 6 years we have been dedicated to supporting people and their families to move towards financial independence. We work to achieve this globally alongside our NGO partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The experience they get on their CVs enables them to find further work no matter where they are. Our long-term impact is to provide conflict-affect people with the means to be self-sufficient and confidently join the world of digital employment.
