The Human Rights Club in Nigerian High Schools project aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills to advocate for human rights. Through workshops and educational initiatives, students will learn to identify and address injustice in their communities. By fostering a culture of activism and social responsibility, the project seeks to create positive change and promote human rights awareness among Nigerian youth.
The project seeks to address the lack of awareness among high school students to advocate for human rights in their communities. Many students do not have a comprehensive understanding of their rights or know how to effectively address instances of injustice and discrimination. This lack of awareness and skills hampers their ability to contribute to creating a more just and equitable society.
By conduct Conducting interactive workshops and training sessions to engage students in discussions, role-plays, and practical activities focused on identifying instances of injustice, understanding advocacy techniques, and mobilising peers for action, Through facilitating opportunities for students to connect with human rights organisations, activists, and community leaders to expand their networks, and collaborate on advocacy initiative, this project will solve the problem.
The project's long-term impact includes nurturing a generation of informed, active and empowered youth who actively champion human rights. This can lead to a more just and equitable society as these students become leaders, advocates, and agents of change in their communities, fostering a culture of respect for human rights and social justice in Nigeria.
