Many teenage mothers face circumstances that make economic independence difficult. For those living with HIV, these challenges may be compounded by stigma, interrupted education, limited employment opportunities, and responsibility for raising a child. Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers responds by helping young mothers develop practical skills and confidence that can strengthen their future opportunities.
Through F SSIBU Mission Foundation, the program connects vulnerable young mothers with mentorship, psychosocial support, vocational skills, entrepreneurship guidance, education encouragement, and community-based follow-up. Skills training can include areas such as tailoring, hairdressing, computer literacy, modern farming, entrepreneurship, and other practical opportunities depending on local needs and available resources.
The purpose is not simply to provide training, but to help young mothers see themselves as capable participants in their own development. Skills can provide a foundation from which they may explore livelihood opportunities, while mentorship encourages responsible decision-making and long-term planning.
The program also considers the children of teenage mothers. Supporting a young mother can strengthen her ability to care for her child and create a more stable family environment.
Donor funding makes these opportunities possible. Contributions support training sessions, learning materials, outreach, mentorship, follow-up, and other program activities.
When donors invest in Restored Hope, they help create opportunities for young mothers who may otherwise remain excluded from education, skills development, and economic opportunities.
Together, we can help young mothers move toward greater confidence, practical capability, and a future built on opportunity rather than vulnerability.
