Chamber Music Northwest brings some of the world's finest classical music artists to inspire and educate audiences through world-class concerts of diverse music.
Due to barriers of financial resources, transportation, and opportunity, great chamber music experiences and music education are not always accessible in our community.
Our education and outreach programs work to ensure that this great music does remain accessible and approachable. An exceptional number of free educational and community access activities take place during both the Summer and Winter Festivals, for audiences of all ages, including open rehearsals, master classes, student ensemble coachings, outreach concerts, radio broadcasts, and more.
These programs aim to inspire and educate, as well as broaden people's experiences and enhance the quality of life in the greater Portland area. Nearly 20,000 people benefit from Chamber Music Northwest concerts and activities throughout the annual Winter and Summer Festivals. Of those, over 200 children participate in coachings, 350 people attend our free community concert, and an additional 350 experience the Family Concert and Instrument Petting Zoo.
