Since our first update in May, Dharithree has made considerable progress in the construction of the hostel building.
To recap, Dharithree runs four schools empowering around 200 mentally and physically challenged children in and around Bangalore, India. The flagship campus of around 6 acres in Narasipur village is a comprehensive facility to educate and train them. The planned ‘girls hostel’ is in addition to other units such as fully equipped physio, dance & music therapy and audiometric units there. When completed, twenty ‘differently able’ girls at a time will be residing in the hostel to get educated, trained and empowered to enter the work force. Additionally, special children of schools in surrounding areas will also be offered free use of physiotherapy and other units.
Construction of the hostel building is continuing as per plan. Photos of the progress made so far are attached. We will continue to provide quarterly periodic updates. In terms of fund-raising, our goal is to raise $35,000 through Global Giving and we are now at around $23,500. Therefore, please consider additional support. Your employer may also match your generosity. Thank you.
