Trauma counseling for survivors after traumatic events like rape, violence or terrorism. Preventive programs against female feticide, protect children against abuse and rehabilitation of survivors.
The need is to support survivors of trauma to overcome nightmares, depression and suicidal feelings. To work with survivors in the immediate aftermath of trauma till their rehabilitation, protect them till they testify in the courts. The beneficiaries are children and adolescents from all over India. Many victims of caste violence also approach the project. The project every year affects nearly a thousand children and their families including the whole community living around them.
Team will visit villages, hospitals, communities where a traumatic event has taken place to provide trauma counseling to survivors. Do preventive workshops on female feticide, child abuse, torture and workshops on peace building in conflict zones.
Building a victim centric criminal justice system, develop national victim protection policy and introduce victim impact statements in Indian courts. Lead to Indian criminal justice system becoming evidence based and humane towards the victim.
