Give Her Wings is a school-based initiative by Woman's Hope that provides dignity kits and menstrual health support to vulnerable girls, ensuring they can stay in school and learn without interruption. In many underserved communities, girls miss several days of school each month because they cannot afford sanitary products or lack access to basic menstrual hygiene education. This not only affects their academic performance but also lowers their confidence.
Problem Statement In many low-income communities, girls face significant barriers to managing their menstrual health with dignity. Due to poverty, many cannot afford sanitary products and are forced to: Miss school during their periods (up to 3-5 days monthly) Use unsafe alternatives (rags, tissue, etc.) Experience shame, stigma, and low self-esteem Reduced academic performance and school dropout risk Increased vulnerability to exploitation and gender-based violence
Woman's Hope will implement a holistic dignity and empowerment program combining: 1. Dignity Kit Distribution Provide essential menstrual hygiene kits to vulnerable girls. Each kit includes: Reusable sanitary pads Underwear Soap and petroleum jelly Toothbrush & toothpaste 2. Menstrual Health Education School-based workshops Training on hygiene and pad usage Breaking myths and stigma 4. Community Engagement (10,000 Steps Challenge) Monthly fundraising walk
