Milestone Achievement - Our First College Graduate

By Caroline Kouns | Operations Manager

Too Little Children's mission has always been to provide more than just basic needs; we strive to provide a future. Today, we are proud to share that the cycle of poverty is being broken through higher education.

A Historic Milestone: Sarah’s Graduation

We are thrilled to announce a major milestone for our program: our very first college graduation. Sarah, who joined our program 12 years ago as a vulnerable child with uncertain prospects, has officially graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

  • The Impact: Sarah’s success serves as a powerful "proof of concept" for our younger students. She has moved from a position of needing support to a position of providing it.

  • The Future: With her degree, Sarah plans to work in trauma-informed care, giving back to the community that raised her and supporting other orphaned children in navigating their mental health.

Progress Toward 2026 Goals

Sarah’s graduation marks the beginning of a new era for our project. As we look toward the remainder of 2026, our focus remains on:

  • Closing the Equity Gap: Ensuring our girls have the resources to stay in school through their final exams.

  • Reducing Absenteeism: Striving for full attendance rates for primary and secondary students.

  • Academic Support: Ensuring more students follow in Sarah’s footsteps through college and technical school courses.
