Empowering Futures at Jemo House

Life at the Home: Milestones & Growth

Our home continues to be a bustling, vibrant space where we celebrate every developmental milestone.

  • The Early Years: We are currently celebrating a major milestone as our youngest resident has just turned 1 year old. It is a joyful time as we watch them take their very first steps toward independence—a physical metaphor for the journey we hope all our children take with confidence.

  • Celebrating Academic Achievement:

    • High School Graduation: We are incredibly proud of four of our teenagers who are set to graduate high school this term. They are currently receiving career counseling and mentorship as they weigh their next steps, whether in university, vocational training, or apprenticeships.

    • Professional Certification: One of our older residents is graduating from community college with a Diploma in Medical Records. This is a significant accomplishment that grants them an immediate pathway to employment in the healthcare sector, ensuring financial self-sufficiency.

Economic Empowerment: Youth Enterprise Success

We believe in creating sustainable futures through entrepreneurship. We are thrilled to share that our oldest young person, now 24 years old, is preparing to launch his own barber shop business.

This venture was made possible through our dedicated Youth Enterprise Scheme, which provides the seed funding, business training, and mentorship necessary for our older children to build viable careers. His success serves as a powerful testament to the others that with the right support, they can be the architects of their own economic stability.

The success of these children is a direct result of the generosity of our supporters. As these young adults launch their careers and our youngest begins to take their first steps, our need for consistent funding is greater than ever.

Your continued contributions ensure that:

  • Our toddlers have the nutrition and safety required for healthy development.

  • Our graduates have the resources to pursue higher education and professional certifications.

  • Our young entrepreneurs receive the mentorship needed to turn skills into sustainable businesses.

Thank you for being an essential part of their journey. Together, we are turning potential into progress.
