The Hong Kong Pride Parade promotes equal rights for and anti-discrimination against the LGBT community. More than 12,000 people joint the parade to support LGBT+ equality in HK in 2018. Due to the pandemic and current situation of the Hong Kong society, we are unable to hold a rally in the past 2 year. This year's Hong Kong Pride Parade will continue to gather us together in the form of a Rainbow Market that every corporate, organization, and participant can celebrate as one.
Currently, Hong Kong has no legal protection against discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation. As a result, the LGBT community faces discrimination in housing, employment, education and immigration etc.
Hong Kong Pride Parade needs support to convey the message of LGBT equality to a wider audience in Hong Kong. This year is the 14th of the annual event. HK Pride was once the biggest public rally in the city. Due to the pandemic and social situation of HK, we are facing greater difficulties this year. We need help to keep holding the LGBT+ annual pride event as a voice for the local LGBT+ community.
Our goal is to achieve a just and safe environment for LGBT people in Hong Kong.
