The Hong Kong Pride Parade promotes equal rights for and anti-discrimination against the LGBT community. Last year 10,000 people joint the parade to support LGBT+ equality in HK. When it happens on the busiest streets in the city, it is the best public education. Currently, Hong Kong has no legal protection against discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation. As a result, the LGBT community faces discrimination in housing, employment, education and immigration etc.
Hong Kong Pride Parade needs support to convey the message of LGBT equality to a wider audience in Hong Kong. With 10,000 participants in Hong Kong Pride Parade 2017, the number of participants has been on a continual raise. To accommodate for a greater crowd of supporters and to convey the voice of the LGBT community to the Hong Kong society, the Hong Kong Pride Parade is in need of support.
A parade with a great diversity of people parading down the street is the best public education for fostering an inclusive society, in which LGBT people can be treated equally. Our goal is to achieve a just and safe environment for LGBT people in Hong Kong.
