Project Report | May 23, 2019
Refining

By Ron Toft | Development Coordinator

Opening our first shelter, and indeed the first of it's kind in the region, was a long and difficult process. We had a hard ground to till before we saw any fruit of our labor. Over the last ten years, however, we have seen amzing change in effort and attitde toward child trafficking in this region of the world. Not only have our direct efforts been as effective as anyone could have hoped, but many in the local government, law enforcement, and social agencies have been emboldened to bravely act on behalf of these young girls. We have seen sweeping change in the response to child trafficking resulting in a significant decrease in trafficking.

As the amazing girls in our program continue to thrive, graduating primary schooling and even moving on to wonderful new opportunities, as we have seen families and communities healed, and as our staff and partners have been encouraged that real change is possible, there is still more to do. We continue to refine our process, our training, and our facilities as we continue to learn more. As a pioneer of this work in Indonesia we have carved a clear path. Now we continue to work hard to pave that path for many more to follow in the coming years.

Thank you for being such a valuable partner in this difficult but rewarding process with us. We look forward to many prosperous years ahead!
