This project will provide comprehensive and sustained support to vulnerable families in Mexico who are caring for a loved one with severe illness or limited mobility at home. Through four integrated programs: Medical Equipment Lending (hospital beds, wheelchairs, oxygen concentrators and more), Adult Diaper Donation, Medical Supplies Donation, and Transportation Assistance, the initiative will ease the physical, emotional, and financial burden of homebased care.
Many vulnerable families in Mexico care for a dependent loved one at home without access to medical equipment, supplies, or transportation. This lack of resources creates physical, emotional, and financial strain, often leading to caregiver burnout and preventable health complications. The project addresses this urgent need by providing essential tools for safe and dignified home care.
In Mexico, where roughly 30% of the population lives in poverty, many families care for dependent loved ones at home without adequate resources. Even with public social security, home-based care needs are often unmet, placing heavy strain on caregivers. This project provides essential tools for safe and dignified care at home.
This project creates lasting change by giving vulnerable families the support they need to face illness without falling deeper into poverty. By accompanying them throughout the care process, it helps prevent cycles of social and economic vulnerability and they families can avoid negative outcomes such as school dropout, debt, or unsafe informal work. In the long term, this translates into stronger families, healthier communities, and better opportunities for the next generation.
