Dear Benefactor of Margadarshi!
October is the festival month in India and our women enjoyed it thoroughly.
October 10th was Ayudha Pooja, which is part of the Dussehra festival, celebrated on the 9 day of Navratri festival. The day started with everyone taking oil bath and wearing ethnic dresses. The Home was decorated with colour papers and flowers and smeared their vehicles with sandalwood paste and kumkum. After the pooja singing traditional songs, they all went for a customary ride on their vehicles, followed by sumptuous delicious dishes.
October 29th was Diwali, festival of lights. Our women welcomed it by lightning earthen oil lamps and placing them inside and outside the Home. They all joined in preparing delicious snacks, which was fun to behold. For a change they had lunch in a restaurant and enjoyed this short outing. In the evening they all burst fire cracks which resembled like a beautiful flower display.
We thank you for joining hands with us for the Smile on their faces and enlightening their lives every day. We look forward to your continued support to sustain our Residential Program.
Warm Regards
Margaret Rose
