Summary
SECHILD Center is dedicated to supporting children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) who have faced abandonment, neglect, and malnutrition. For the past 13 years, we have provided a HOME, care, food, clothing, recreation, and psychosocial support to children with CP from less privileged families. More than 50 children have received rehabilitation, care, love, education, and support, leading to happier childhoods and brighter futures. Many of these children have successfully attended school. With ongoing support, we can continue to offer a home, acceptance, love, and care to more children, helping them realize their dreams.
Challenge
Children with Cerebral Palsy in Nigeria often face discrimination, neglect, and a lack of care, leaving them marginalized and vulnerable. The number of children experiencing neglect, abandonment, malnutrition, and poverty is increasing daily. These systemic issues, compounded by limited access to education, demand urgent intervention. Many children with CP suffer from various forms of abuse and face a very harsh reality in Nigeria. Neglect and lack of care are constant threats in their lives, exposing them to harm daily.
Solution
At SECHILD Center, we provide a nurturing environment for children with Cerebral Palsy, offering shelter, love, and holistic support. Currently, we care for 20 children, ensuring they receive both physical and emotional care. We also support parents and caregivers by providing essential services such as food, clothing, education, and psychosocial support. Our commitment to upholding children's rights and their well-being underscores everything we do, as we strive to create a brighter future for these children.
Long-Term Impact
SECHILD's commitment spans more than a decade, offering shelter, home, care, and support to over 50 children with Cerebral Palsy (CP). We provide vital services such as psychosocial support, education, and therapy to combat discrimination and reduce abandonment. Recognizing the importance of family support, we extend our efforts to caregivers, aiming to create a nurturing environment where children with CP can flourish and reach their full potential.
