Dear followers,
I hope you are all well! The sun has been making an appearance here over the past few weeks and we hope that wherever you are, you have also caught a glimpse of it. Greetings and warmth from us all at the Meet Kate Foundation!
Its that time of the year again!
With the sun come exams. Did you know that the board members of Meet Kate UK are all students? We know about the hard work and stress that can come with exam season and the feeling of freedom when it finally ends. It means that we empathise wholeheartedly with our scholarship students in Ghana who are going through exactly the same thing. We hope you are joining us in sending them all of the luck and love we can. They have been working hard all year though and we believe in them! We’ll keep you updated on how they are doing.
We believe in Girls.
Sunday 8th March was international women’s day and we joined with Global Giving UK in their campaign to raise awareness of all the amazing projects around the world who work with girls. They donated £1 to Meet Kate Foundation for every person who donated their time on Global Giving Time to help a project. I shared Mavis’s story. Take a look to understand why at Meet Kate, we also believe in girls! We are so grateful to everyone who donated their time to some of the amazing charities. With new projects being posted every day, its not too late to make a difference to an organization.
A night of culture
The African Caribbean Society in Plymouth University put on a charity culture show earlier this year, and we were honoured to be one of the charities they raised money for. The night was full of fantastic acts, great company and delicious food. It ended with a stunning fashion show and of course, we were there to highlight the positive image of Africa and to talk about the work that we do in Ghana. We would like to say a huge thank you to ACS for the donation that they made to us from that night. We really appreciate you choosing us and we hope that we can continue to work with you in the future.
Do you have a question about what we do? Or just something you want to say? We always love hearing from you. Drop us a message at uk@meetkate.org
Till next time.
Naa
