HHH is going to celebrate it's 50th anniversary this year. For the past 50 years and organization conceived at the Ganesh Temple in NY has been helping differently abled children throughout the world by sending donations to various charities.

Using the funds collected so far cataract and corrective surgeries like ptosis and squint are treated free of charge for children. The unit also treats refractive errors and provides free specs for children. This institute is run by the Medical Director Dr.S.C.Mishra ably supported by Dr.Pradeep Jain , Dr.S.N.Sinha no name some of the few doctors in the institute.

On Oct 17th 2021, a new Pediatric Operational theatre was opened in Mahavir Netralaya. This unit was opened with the generous support of GG supporters like you. All local newspapers covered the event which was a tremendous success as any child below the age of 16 will now get free eye suregery at the new theatre.The total cost to build the new Pediatric Surgery unit was approx $18,000.
Director S.C. Mishra has promised free food for children for all children who come to the institute for surgery or any other eye related issues

All children were given free medicines and meal, related pathological test was done free.

As it happened throughout the world, covid impacted operations of this institute. The brave doctors of this institute regardless continued to perform to provide service to the children at great risk to their own lives.

The doctors in Mahavir Netralaya hospital in Patna (Bihar, India) plan to build a separate pediatric Out Patient Department (OPD) for children using the funds collected through generous donors like you through GlobalGiving.
Leading this effort are DR.S.C.Mishra and Dr.Vikas Kumar Sinha who are currently residents in Mahavir Netralaya hospital in Patna. From USA, the fund raising is being coordinated by Dr.Chitra who is practicing in New York and is associated with Heart and Hand organization for decades.
The HHH team in U.S. coordinated fund raisers sponsored by GlobalGiving to gather funds for this noble cause. These resources include all members of the HHH executive team and the advisory board.
The overall plan is to cater to approximately 30 to 40 children (upto age 16) each day in this facility. The following services will be provided to poor children in Patna free of cost
1. Cataract Operation
2. Corrective Refractive errors Surger
3. Free Eye glasses
The total cost of the project is approx. 50 lakhs(Approx. $65,000) , the major funding for this effort will come from generous donors like you through GlobalGiving.
The OPD for children with dedicated pediatrics will be inaugurated on October 17th 2020. The doctors will gradually start performing surgeries from month end itself to needy children from underprivileged background. Expect that this building for children will be fully furnished in the next 4 months
Due to COVID-19 and lockdown the building construction has been delayed. The tender for building the OPD has been released and negotiations are underway with a few constructing companies to expedite the build.
The other issue related to COVID-19 is that parents are reluctant to bring their children to the hospital or permit surgery for their children as they fear getting infected. Necessary precautions are being taken to ensure safety of the children and their guardians so that they can avail of the services without fear of getting infected.
On Oct 17 2020 there is plan to advertise in all prominent newspapers in Bihar regarding the opening of specialized Pediatric Ophthalmic Service for Children.
