Building Momentum: HERfrica by She-EO Takes Root

By Joy Okoronkwo | Community Manager

What began as a vision to empower African women solopreneurs is now steadily coming to life through HERfrica by She-EO. With careful planning, community engagement, and outreach, the foundation for a powerful fellowship is being laid.

Where We Are Now: Laying the Groundwork

Over the past months, we have:

  • Program Design Completed – The HERfrica framework, pillars, and structure have been finalized, focusing on mentorship, leadership, business development, networking, and access to interest-free loans.

  • Eligibility & Application Process Defined – Clear criteria have been set to ensure that fellows selected are women solopreneurs positioned for growth and impact.

  • Awareness Campaigns Launched – Outreach has begun to attract applicants, mentors, and partners, sparking excitement across She-EO’s community.

  • Partnership Building in Motion – Early conversations with potential collaborators and sponsors are underway to strengthen program delivery and sustainability.

Early Progress

The HERfrica story is gaining momentum:

  • Interest from women entrepreneurs across Nigeria is growing.

  • Potential mentors and partners are expressing enthusiasm to come on board.

  • Systems for training, peer support circles, and business showcase events are being mapped out.

What’s Next: Moving from Plans to Action

As we transition into the next phase, we will:

  • Open applications and begin selection of fellows and mentors.

  • Launch onboarding and orientation for all participants.

  • Roll out the first set of capacity-building workshops focused on mindset, leadership, and business growth.

  • Prepare the platform for mid-program reviews and the final graduation showcase.

Your Role in This Journey

This is just the beginning. By joining us as a partner, sponsor, or champion, you help ensure that HERfrica empowers women not just to run businesses, but to lead movements that transform families, communities, and entire sectors.

Together, we are proving that when women grow, Africa grows.

With gratitude,
The She-EO Team
