HERfrica by She-EO: Progress Update

HERfrica by She-EO continues to make steady progress as we prepare to launch a structured mentorship and business support initiative for African women entrepreneurs. Our focus remains on building a thoughtful, sustainable program that responds to the real needs of women founders seeking growth, guidance, and community.

Current Status

During this period, significant foundational work has been completed to move the program closer to implementation.

Key Developments

The HERfrica program framework has been refined, with core focus areas including mentorship, business development, leadership growth, peer learning, and founder support.
Eligibility requirements and the application process have been outlined to guide a fair and intentional selection process for both participants and mentors.
Internal awareness efforts have begun within the She-EO network to build interest among prospective applicants, mentors, and collaborators.
Early conversations have started with potential partners and supporters who may contribute to program delivery and long-term sustainability.

Progress Observed

We are encouraged by the level of early interest shown so far, particularly from women entrepreneurs seeking structured support and mentorship.

There has also been positive engagement from experienced professionals who are open to serving as mentors or contributing expertise to the program.

Planning is underway for participant learning sessions, accountability circles, and opportunities to showcase women-led businesses during the program cycle.

Next Steps

As we move into the next phase, priorities include:

Opening applications for the 2026 HERfrica cohort
Commencing participant and mentor selection
Conducting onboarding and orientation sessions
Launching early capacity-building sessions focused on business foundations and leadership
Establishing monitoring, evaluation, and participant support systems

Building Momentum: HERfrica by She-EO Takes Root

What began as a vision to empower African women solopreneurs is now steadily coming to life through HERfrica by She-EO. With careful planning, community engagement, and outreach, the foundation for a powerful fellowship is being laid.

Where We Are Now: Laying the Groundwork

Over the past months, we have:

Program Design Completed – The HERfrica framework, pillars, and structure have been finalized, focusing on mentorship, leadership, business development, networking, and access to interest-free loans.
Eligibility & Application Process Defined – Clear criteria have been set to ensure that fellows selected are women solopreneurs positioned for growth and impact.
Awareness Campaigns Launched – Outreach has begun to attract applicants, mentors, and partners, sparking excitement across She-EO’s community.
Partnership Building in Motion – Early conversations with potential collaborators and sponsors are underway to strengthen program delivery and sustainability.

Early Progress

The HERfrica story is gaining momentum:

Interest from women entrepreneurs across Nigeria is growing.
Potential mentors and partners are expressing enthusiasm to come on board.
Systems for training, peer support circles, and business showcase events are being mapped out.
