PUBLIC LANDS ALLIANCE SPENDS DAY ON CAPITOL HILL
Earlier this month, PLA's leadership team and Board of Directors held meetings with twenty-four federal officials including members of Congress and acting Directors of the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The Board of Directors met with both leadership and ranking members of committees that have authorization and budgeting responsibility of land management agencies.
These meetings focused on educating elected officials about our members, why appropriate staffing and budgeting of public land management agencies are critical, and asking them to pass the newly introduced "America the Beautiful Act."
PLA is encouraged by a non-partisan consensus that public lands are for everyone and will continue to meet with elected officials.
