The goal of this campaign is to protect older adults while they wait to be vaccinated. For achieving that , we need your help to be able to implement cutting-edge technology in nine care centers and in a hostel for elderlies, during the months of March to May in order to follow the WHO recommendation of testing, tracing and isolating COVID-19 cases.
Those over 65 are the group at greatest risk of death from COVID-19. The mortality rate in Chile for this group exceeds 15%. Hogar de Cristo has been working with the Happ and Kura Biotech companies for months with the objective of increasing the protection coverage for employees of the largest number of residences possible, avoiding the contagion of the elderly.
Through happ and Kura Biotech technology, weekly tests will be carried out using an isothermal PCR of saliva, detecting the RNA of the SARS-Cov-2 virus and preventing infections in the early stages, thus avoiding internal outbreaks. Furthermore, happ app detects "close contacts" between people through their cell phones and these contacts are recorded and used to give visibility to the risky contacts of a person who has been identified with Covid-19, and thus to be able to test them in advance.
Happ gives employees the security of serving users without infecting them; They test them in the morning and two hours later they have the results. Ensuring that we are not a vector of contagion for their families and the elderly users they assist.
