Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project helping mothers affected by the earthquake. The earthquake in Cotabato has wrought so much destruction to large populations and the most vulnerable who are affected are children, women and old people. We provided hygiene kits during the initial phase and thanks so much for local donors who helped us with their support. This reporting period, and seeing during our assessment the need for sanitary latrines, we were able to provide 35 latrines to women-led households. We selected women-led households because they are the most disadvantaged and needing much help. After the initial interest by donors, the news about the earthquake is long gone now and interest has waned. We are local and we are able to continue our support with very little administrative overhead so this is surely an advantage.

Hoping for your continuing support.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle

Dear Friend,

Greetings and thank you very much for your generosity in supporting our project helping mothers and their children affected by the earthquake. The situation is dire in the affected area as aftershocks and multiple earthquakes are happening. In some barrios, 80% of the houses are damaged and no longer fit for habitation. Families are living in makeshift tents and are no longer farming. After the initial support from donors while the disaster is still in the news, the problem is the long haul, with the communities unable to cope with food, medicine, water and sanitation. This reporting period, we did a survey of the affected areas and provided support to 300 families with hygiene kits. Hoping that we will be able to continue our assistance with them as days go on.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle Frances
