María, better known as "La Che", has been the Lifting Hands Youth Coordinator since March of this year.
Our youth program is focused on giving academic and professional opportunities to young people from marginal urban communities. In this way, a comfortable space is created to talk about topics such as sexuality, study techniques, innovation, among others, and offer a mentoring system.
“I like the effort and direction with which we work at Lifting Hands, as well as the positive impact we have on the community. We have leading boys in their own communities who could volunteer in a future generation of Lifting Hands. What motivates me to follow is to see how boys and girls shake hands with each other; They learn to take care of themselves, to love each other, and to help each other. We are motivating the importance of having a space to express oneself and to be able to listen to everyone. ”- María.
