The cross-cutting skills and employability training program was also held at the C90 Trapaquiante High School and was eagerly awaited by the entire community. 24 people participated, mostly young women from the municipality of Tirúa, a milestone for this backward place in the province of Arauco in the Biobio region, around 700 km from Santiago. Even the mayor of Tirúa himself, José Linco, received the Emplea team for this training.
"Our coming aroused a lot of interest, because it is not easy for programs of this type to reach here. Not only because of the distance, but also because of contingencies such as a road blockage, which is somewhat graphic," says Romanet, the social worker in charge of this workshop
It was a training program that seeks to install transversal skills and job search tools in women and young people, in a region that is the fourth with the lowest labor participation in the country (50.6%) and also the fourth region with the highest poverty rate in the population (13.2%), according to CASEN 2020.
The modules taught were: motivation, initiative and learning, teamwork, autonomous employability, job readiness, conflict resolution and digital activation. Afterwards, we also developed individual interventions, where it was possible to work in a more personal and detailed way on these topics for all the people who participated.
