Know the story of Rita, a Chilean woman that became a mother at a young age and had to leave her job for years. Thanks to the EMPLEA foundation from Hogar de Cristo, she got the skills/job training to return to the labor market. An inspiring story of overcoming obstacles that certainly will inspire other women. Over 1.6 million from this vulnerable segment have the potential to become part of the labor market in Chile but do not have skills/job experience and need an opportunity to start over.
"I quit my job at 21 to raise and focus on my premature son; the nurseries did not want to receive him. Time later was frustrating to get a new position when I tried to go back to the labor market. So, I realized I had insufficient job training skills and tools. I had lost my job stability"
In EMPLEA foundation, we strengthen the skills of the most disadvantaged groups excluded from the labor market We know that looking for a job can be a slow, arduous, and lonely process, so we provide tools, counseling, and personalized tailor-made job training. Many women have skills, talents, and invaluable knowledge that give them life through their daily efforts to pursue better opportunities to carry out their life projects as women and families being part of the labor market.
Rita stated the workshops she received "gave me tools that I did not have" the accompaniment boosted "female empowerment, losing fear, seeing weaknesses as strengths, and getting new meaning from past bad experiences. It helps us move forward instead of seeing them as limitations. I would say all women who dare to lose that fear, yes, you are capable. YES, YOU CAN".
