Buen dia,
We talked about starting Phase 2 in our last report (March 2026). However the women have decided to change their plans. Due to the huge uncertainty in the world right now, they have decided to delay the remodeling of the second hen house and instead invest in an additional 350 hens when they replace their current flock. The hen house will accommodate a total of 800 hens.
Although they were thinking about August to replace their current flock, as the hens are reaching an amazing 17 months of laying eggs, in fact their hens are doing so well they might want to delay that a bit, too. An amazing 85% of hens are laying each day in this month of July. That reflects good care of the hens, attending to all the details of their health and well-being. Happy hens lay eggs!!
In any case, the delay in remodeling will give them some time to see how outside factors such as the US deportation campaign and the Iran war will be impacting them. They will be able to analyze when to begin the remodeling of the second hen house as the new year begins.
Please consider donating again -- they still need to cover the cost of remodeling, which is currently budgeted at $2500. The project envisions funding a total of 1600 hens which means an additional 800 hens and startup feed. The women fund the replacement of their hens from their sales of eggs. The cost of the additional 800 hens and startup feed will total $11,600.
Thank you for the support that has allowed the women to progress to this stage. They are currently earning $60 each month.
Please consider donating again!
Thank you, Caryn
