World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines providing meals in response to climate, humanitarian, and community crises. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, our Relief Teams have served more than 600 million nourishing meals around the world. On behalf of the entire team at WCK, we are extremely grateful for your support, and we hope you share our pride in all that we have accomplished together.
Over the past year, World Central Kitchen’s locally led teams worked tirelessly to scale up meal production across Gaza, achieving our goal of serving one million meals daily to families displaced by conflict in February 2026. Through a network of six large-scale kitchens, 65+ community kitchens, and partner restaurants, WCK has distributed millions of nourishing meals, freshly baked loaves of bread and clean drinking water since our last update in January. With over half of the Palestinian population living in officially-declared famine conditions, these meals serve as a lifeline to communities who have had their access to food and water stripped away.
Despite the recent milestones reached by our locally-led team of Palestinians in Gaza, our ability to continue cooking at high capacity remains fragile. Strict IDF border restrictions on ingredients, equipment, and fuel have bottlenecked the flow of humanitarian aid into the region. In the face of these challenges, WCK continues to show up for the people of Gaza each day, going above and beyond to make sure each warm meal provides not only nourishment, but comfort, hope, and a reminder that you are not alone.
For the third consecutive year, WCK stepped up to help Palestinian families—who have been enduring unimaginable hardships—enjoy their most spiritual holiday. Ramadan—which ran from February 18 through March 19 this year—is a month centered around devotion, reflection, and generosity. Muslim observers fast from sunrise to sunset; an act of worship grounded in self-discipline and empathy for the less fortunate. For many people in Gaza, the question was whether there would be anything to break the fast at all.
WCK teams prepared and distributed Ramadan food kits, giving families the ingredients to cook for themselves throughout the month. Each kit was halal-certified, and was packed with familiar, culturally relevant staples like rice, lentils, freekeh, pasta, olive oil, chickpeas, tahini, tomato paste, tea, and coffee. The kits also contained a dedicated iftar box stocked with dates, dried fruits, nuts, milk, juice, and traditional sweets for families to break their fast with food that felt like home. With enough ingredients for up to 70 meals per kit, these boxes were designed to sustain families, from suhoor before dawn to iftar after sunset.
To date, WCK has served more than 350 million warm meals and nearly 100 million loaves of bread to help sustain the people of Gaza. Our work would not be possible without the support of wonderful donors and partners like you. On behalf of the entire WCK family, we are extremely grateful for your support. Together, we will continue showing up for the people of Gaza every day, one hot plate of food at a time.
