Tierra Violeta is a feminist cultural center that hosts the Feminaria Library, which is unique in Latin America. It has a collection fo 21000 books dating from the XIX century to date. During the COVID 19 pandemics we've suffered two major floodings that caused severe damage to our documents, computers and many books We are in need of urgent help to recover part of the damaged materials. If we don't act now we will lose for good valuable materials that are unavailable in other libraries
While we were closed during the COVID 19 pandemics, our office suffered two floodings that caused the loss and severe damage of files, furniture, computers, cameras, and many books. We need urgent help to recover! We provide all types of documents and materials for research and activism on feminism and sexual diversity. Many of these resources cannot be found in other libraries, and should we not recover them, they will be lost for good.
This project will help us collect the funds to replace the damaged files and books, and also to open back to the public the feminist and transinclusive library that hosts Tierra Violeta.
Feminaria is a specialized library, unique in its kind in Latin America with 21.000 books dating from the XIX century to date, files and other materials on feminisms, gender, women and sexual diversity. We are eager to reopen our doors for the community!
