Hi Everyone,
After several years of work, our orphanage project was finally commissioned on June 3rd, 2017. There were about 500 people in attendance at the inauguration, half of them were children who put up various brilliant performances to the delight of all attendees.
We have hired a manager, a nanny and a security person to manage the facility. We also have our first child at the facility. This child was left at the hospital after the mother Gifty died during child birth. The father James, a peasant farmer who has three other children did not see how he could take care of this new-born child.
We took the child when she was five days old with understanding of the father that we would bring the child to the orphanage when it was commissioned. Less than six months later, she became the first child of the facility. Everyone loves her (Theresah).
Operational cost of the facility at this stage in terms of: Salaries, feeding, utilities and other expenses is at least $700/month. We have committed pledge of $230/month from our donors. We would appreciate any help in monthly pledges of $10, $20 or $30. See attached pictures of the workers and the young girl.
