To all of our wonderful supporters,

Thanks to our kindness and generosisty we have reached and passed our target.

Thanks to you we will continue to support our clients going through desperately difficult times.

2020 has been a strange and hard year for so many people. I have seen extreme acts of kindness many times. I think that being locked down gave so many of us time to think about others and the struggles they may have and we all had some extra time to do something about it.

Please look out for future projects we have as always your support would be amazing.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and here is hoping that 2021 is a good one.

Many Thanks again for your kindness.

Wendy Denty

Thank you for your support so far.

During Covid-19 we have been able to run a Freedom Programme using Zoom, This was a first for us but the clients who attended still seemed to gain from it. The facilitator felt that it worked well and even group work was still able to take place.

The programme is designed to teach women about the different types of abuse and help them to recognise early warning signs when they enter a new relationship.

Our staff have worked hard to ensure our clients feel supported during a time when face to face meetings have stopped. Face time and Zoom have helped virtual meetings to still take place.

During the last few weeks our ptiorities have had to change. Dealing with sometimes nearly double the usual number of calls to our helpline has been challenging.

Our community programmes for survivors of Domestic Abuse have had to be postponed due to lock down and social distancing.

We are hopefully going to be able to run the courses using Zoom until things return to whatever usual becomes.

Incidents of Domestic Abuse will rise by between 25 and 50% with victims having little or no respite from their perpetrators.

The demand on our services will increase massively at a time where our ability to raise funds will deminish extensively.

The generosity of our supporters will help us through this very difficult time.

Thank you.

Thank you for supporting this project.

The need for the Freedom programme is growing daily as the need for our services increases.

We also run group programmes in both of our safe houses, peer to peer support can be vital as this breaks the common myth that the abuse was somehow the fault of the victim.

Some people come on the programme and they may recognise some of the abuse they have suffered. The programmes goes through all of the different sorts of abuse there are and many women find out that they have been victims of more than one kind of abuse and not seen other behaviours as further abuse.

Please share details of our project with your contacts as we really do need the help and support.

We are just coming to the end of 2 programmes for women in the community.

These courses  help the women learn to recognise the different types of abuse that they have experienced.

With this knowledge and information it can help women to spot early warning signs of potential abuse and allow them to make informed judgements and decisions.

These courses are vital to women in order to help them protect themselves and their children. Without this they may enter into other abusive relationships. This course helps them to break the cycle.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us to raise money to fund these courses.
