Many of us have protection from the elements, but the homeless do not. UPO helps the DC Homeless throughout the year. UPO Shelter Hotline vans transported 157,297 people to shelters in 2015. Funded by the Community Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness the UPO Shelter Hotline represents the entry point assisting Homeless folks off the street and transporting them to Homeless Shelters. We are pleased to report that the number of DC Homeless actually declined by 5.8% in 2015 – see attached Homelessness in DC 2015 report PDF #1
Your Donations to Help UPO Help the DC Homeless on GlobalGiving provides funds UPO needs to purchase the comfort items we distribute to the DC Homeless. UPO distributed 49,777 comfort items to the DC Homeless during FY 15 - see attached PDF #2 for details of comfort items distributed in FY15.
