Quarterly Activity Report: FUNCOMAS
December 2023 – March 2024

Introduction
The Community Foundation in Support of Single Mothers and Vulnerable Youth (FUNCOMAS) is pleased to present its activity report for the quarter from December 2023 to March 2024. During this period, we have continued our commitment to empowering single mothers, vulnerable youth, adolescents, and economically disadvantaged women in the Dominican Republic, through offering professional and basic beauty courses, among other programs.

Activities and Achievements
Throughout the quarter, basic beauty courses were provided, covering essential skills in skin care, basic makeup, and hairdressing, manicure, and pedicure techniques. These courses aim to offer our beneficiaries the opportunity to generate income from their homes while continuing their studies, thereby improving their self-esteem, quality of life, and social growth.

Social Impact
Our initiatives have had a significant positive impact, increasing the self-confidence and professional skills of our participants. This has enabled them to access new job opportunities and improve their economic situation. Notably, the manicure, pedicure, and recycling courses have encouraged entrepreneurship, allowing many to start their own businesses from home.

Community Participation
The community response has been overwhelmingly positive, with growing interest in our programs. We have strengthened connections with local institutions and businesses, which has expanded our reach and reinforced our impact.

Challenges and Future Perspectives
Despite our successes, we are aware of the ongoing challenges our beneficiaries face. We are committed to expanding and diversifying our educational programs to meet the changing needs of our community.

QUARTERLY ACTIVITY REPORT: FUNCOMAS (SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER 2023)

The Community Foundation in Favor of Single Mothers and Unprotected Young People (FUNCOMAS) is pleased to present the quarterly report of its activities during the months of September, October and November of the year 2023. During this period, the foundation has continued its commitment to empower to young women of limited resources in Santo Domingo and surrounding areas, offering basic beauty courses and specialized workshops in manicure and pedicure for free.
Performed activities:

Basic Beauty Courses for Young Women:

During the quarter, FUNCOMAS held basic beauty courses aimed at young women facing economic difficulties. These courses covered a variety of essential skills, including skin care, basic makeup, and hair styling techniques. The main objective was to provide participants with the necessary tools to improve their self-esteem and facilitate obtaining employment in the beauty industry.

Specialized Workshop on Manicure and Pedicure:

FUNCOMAS held a specialized workshop on manicure and pedicure, giving participating women the opportunity to acquire specific skills in nail care. This workshop included hands-on practices, theoretical teaching, and the use of quality products and techniques. The purpose was not only to provide technical knowledge, but also to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among the beneficiaries.
