Cold weather has started to hit the region in recent weeks and with this has started another school term here at DEPDC. And of course, with this comes along the buses’ routinely safety checkup making sure our students get to school safe and sound the whole year round. Because both vehicles received thorough repairs the previous term, this time repairs were quite minimal, yet not less important.
DEPDC’s old but loyal pickup truck needed its turn signals switch replaced and updated as it suddenly stopped blinking. Turn signals are a very important safety feature that alerts drivers all around you that your vehicle will soon be making a turn. And of course, turn lights that have gone bad would put our students in direct jeopardy. Luckily for us, they were easy and quick to fix. Additionally, our aging truck went through its annual engine oil change and is now good to go!
Because our vehicles’ safety go hand in hand with a secure and reliable brake system, DEPDC’s bus had a proper brake pad routine maintenance and checkup. Both are now again running as if almost anew, and ready to take on the winter.
DEPDC's students, staff, and volunteers would like to thank all our current, future, and past donors for their generous support without which we would not be able to do our work in preventing at-risk children from human-trafficking through education. Many thanks to all!
