HLG had the pleasure of visiting Saboba Africa in February of 2020 to introduce middle school children to the sport of basketball. Mr. Jonah was one of many great people hosting us there. He notified me that in October rain brought great flooding to their farmland, an imminent food shortage. The 2021 harvest supported those fears, in June food supply will be scarce with insufficient community places to purchase food. They will have to purchase food elsewhere, leaving many without.
In October of 2020 rain brought great flooding to the farmland of Saboba, Ghana. At that time they couldn't assess the complete damage to the crops, until harvest in February 2021. There was extensive damage to the harvests. As a result, in June & July 2021 there will be a total food shortage causing them to go to other areas to buy and bring food back to Saboba. Those families without the funds and resources to do so will be left to fin for themselves.
With trusted relationships in Saboba, HLG will help support by offering funds to purchase food, transportation to and from locations and services rendered to prepare, gather and feed the youth. We will support by supplementing approximately 9,803 meals during 2 weeks of service.
With 100% of projected funds raised donated to Saboba's Feed the Youth project, approximately 700 youth would be fed daily for 2 weeks. This allows for those same youth we service through sports see HLG's full commitment in their holist growth and development. We are proud to offer that to those students and many others.
