Survivors from all areas hit by Super typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) are all at the state of shock with the passing of the said typhoon. All that is left to them are debris of what have been their homes, with mixed emotions of relief, grief, regret and hopelessness. After surviving Haiyan, they faced another problem: How will they be able to live? They needed the help of everyone, not only Filipinos but all of those concerned individuals all over the world. They are striving for their basic needs such as food, clothing, medicines, clean water, and shelter.
The Children’s Joy Foundation Inc. quickly made a move to help the victims’ needs to survive. Generous individuals, parents, companies, volunteers, and different people arrived to hand in their donations and extend their help to support the disaster recovery and relief efforts for the victims. CJFI, implemented relief operations in different places that were hit by the super typhoon. A big truck, full of relief goods for the victims, travelled all over the typhoon-hit areas. Relief goods were given and will continuously give to every person who is in need.
The moment the CJF truck bringing the first batch of relief goods arrived in Marasbaras in Tacloban City (the city that suffered the most devastation) people started lining up and the line goes on and on. On-site volunteers had difficulty in unloading the goods to the long line of waiting survivors, even under the rain.
The heartbreaking part would always be when the truck-full of goods turns is empty, for you wish you could give more and more to them who desperately needs the help. But the good thing is there are too many kindhearted people who are willing to help, so we were able to replenish supplies immediately and continue to give more and more.
