One of our core values is improving rural health through lending a hand in the provision of basic health care and social amenities that will foster a healthy living. Such is seen in the improvement OAK Rural health organization has brought to KORUKORU a rural community in Akinyele Local government, Ibadan Oyo State through the provision of a sustainable source of potable water.
From our last routine check on the project, we are glad to report that the dwellers of the community were observed to be living a better life with the availability of clean water. According to them, the path to the murky stream water they make use of before is blocked with bushes because they no longer need to go there for water.
We also observed a clean environment around the borehole, with a high level of coordination as the taps were under lock to prevent wastage or destruction by children. As at the time of visit, the tank was filled with water and few of the residents we interacted with appeared to have water to have water in store. According to them the coordination allows them to have water at the times most needed.
They however hinted that the only challenge is that it takes a longer time to fill up the storage tank, hence the pumping machine overworks. This is due to backfill problem which needs urgent solution. Your donations at this time will enable us get this solved as soon as possible. Thank you for being art of this achievement.
