Summary

The East Coast of Malaysia encountered the worst flood in over one hundred years. Many low lying areas have seen houses or even entire villages completely being destroyed by flood waters. What is most needed now is temporary shelters, house hold items, construction materials, tools and furnishing for reconstruction of homes, school and health clinics. Town areas will slowly crawl back to life but the Orang Asli will find it very hard to get life back to normal if no help is extended to them

Challenge

Over 200,000 people have lost almost everything in the flood. Many low lying areas such as Guchil, Manek Urai and other surrounding villages have seen houses or even entire villages completely being destroyed by the water. Town areas will slowly crawl back to life but the Orang Asli (Malaysian Aborigines) will find it very hard to get life back to normal if no help is extended to them, especially because many of the roads leading to their villages are gone or in a very bad condition.

Solution

What is most needed now is temporary shelters, house hold items, construction materials, tools and furnishing for reconstruction of homes, school and health clinics. With your donation we are able to buy the necessary supplies, so that these people can rebuild their lives again.

Long-Term Impact

When people from the East Coast are able to reclaim their lives again they will have a better future ahead of them with more chances and opportunities.
