For 28 years, Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Centre (KITCC) has been providing free, comprehensive care for thalassemia patients in Pakistan. With over 1000 registered patients, KITCC provides treatments, including regular blood transfusions, iron chelation therapy, Lab test and tertiary health care to its registered patients.
Psycho-Social Support: Understanding the emotional toll that thalassemia can take on patients and their families, KITCC established the Psycho-Social Well-Being Center (PSWC), which focuses on mental health, emotional resilience, and community support through SELM frame work. This center has proven to be a crucial part of KITCC’s holistic approach to patient care, with many patients like Rozina and other thalassemia warrior doing fellowship in our Trust and taking leadership roles in helping others overcome challenges.
Iron Chelation Therapy: Thalassemia patients face the critical challenge of iron overload due to regular blood transfusions, which can lead to life-threatening organ damage. To prevent this, KITCC provides iron chelation therapy, a vital treatment that removes excess iron from the body, helping patients avoid complications and improving their quality of life. We provide free of cost iron chelation medicines to our registered patients.
