KITCC aims to support its registered 1023 thalassemia patients in Sindh, Pakistan with bi-weekly blood transfusions. Objectives include improving health, enhancing quality of life, and raising awareness. Activities involve medical camps, check-ups, counseling, nutritional support, and awareness campaigns. Expected outcomes include better patient health, increased blood donations, and community awareness. Sustainability is ensured through fundraising and partnerships.
Thalassemia is a hereditary blood disorder prevalent in Pakistan, causing severe anemia in affected individuals. Patients with Thalassemia Major require regular blood transfusions every two weeks to manage their condition. This ongoing treatment and we need regular Blood Donation.
This project will ensure regular blood transfusions for 1023 registered Thalassemia patients, preventing severe anemia and organ damage. Funds will cover blood transfusion expenses, blood bags, staff salaries, outsourced blood products, and donor prescreening tests. By ensuring consistent treatment and improving our health management system, we aim to significantly enhance patient care and quality of life.
The project will enhance the health and longevity of Thalassemia patients, reducing morbidity and mortality rates. Improved medical care and education will empower patients and families, fostering better disease management. Sustained funding will enable KITCC to expand services, reach more patients, and advocate for national Thalassemia prevention policies. Long-term, this will lead to a healthier population, reduced healthcare costs, and progress toward eradicating Thalassemia in Pakistan.
