Dear Kind Donor,
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, thalassemia patients across Sindh face one of the most difficult times of the year. Children with thalassemia depend on regular blood transfusions every two weeks to survive, yet during Ramadan, blood donations drop sharply.
Why Ramadan Is Critical
Many people hesitate to donate blood while fasting, and blood drives slow down significantly. At the same time, hospitals face increased pressure due to emergencies and accidents. This creates a severe shortage of safe blood, and thalassemia children are often the first to suffer.
When blood is delayed, children become dangerously weak. Missed or late transfusions can lead to serious complications, hospitalizations, and in extreme cases, loss of life. For families already struggling financially, Ramadan becomes a month of fear instead of peace.
The Reality at KITCC
At Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Centre (KITCC), we support over 1,000 registered thalassemia patients. Every Ramadan, we struggle to maintain adequate blood supplies to meet their needs. Despite our efforts, shortages make it harder to ensure timely transfusions for every child.
How You Can Save a Life This Ramadan
Your donation helps us:
This Ramadan, your generosity can be someone’s survival. While we fast for spiritual strength, these children cannot fast from blood.
Please support “Help Thalassemia Patients for Blood Transfusion” on GlobalGiving.
Your donation is an act of compassion, and a source of life.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Centre Trust.
