Project Report for Sept, Oct & Nov 2017

Project Report for Sept, Oct and Nov. 2017

Aarohi Blood Bank celebrates its 8th Anniversary:

It was in 2009 that we started this journey of promoting Voluntary Blood Donation at Aarohi Blood Bank to provide safe and free blood to Thalassemia Kids coming from the low socio economic strata of our society.

To provide blood and also to promote Voluntary Blood Donation we started conducting camps at various organizations – government, private and corporates. Over the last 2 years we have been able to maintain a steady supply to 2000 children every year.

We have progressed in ‘serving’ Thalassemia children from only 240 in 2010 to over 2000 in 2016 – an almost ten times’ growth

  • In percentage terms, from less than 20% of total donors (smaller base)  to over 36% (on a larger base) in this period, Aarohi contributes to a sizeable percentage of the affected community in and around Hyderabad

Celebrating 1 Year of Association with Global Giving:

A partnership with Global Giving in this one year starting from September 2016 has been heartening. A quick glance at the number of Thalassemia Children supported by Global Giving between the period October 2016 to September 2017 shows that nearly half of our beneficiaries were funded by contributions from Global Giving donors. The support of donors via Global Giving has strengthened our resolve to support more Thalassemia Children

We hope the support and contributions from Global Giving & all the donors help us in giving Free Blood to more and more Thalassemia Children in the forthcoming years.

Awareness on Thalassemia & Promoting Voluntary Blood Donation at Camps:

Aarohi Blood Bank during its blood donation camps emphasizes on creating awareness on Thalassemia and promoting Voluntary Blood Donation.

One such camp conducted at Sreedhar’s College of Competitive Exams, Ameerpet, Hyderabad where almost 1000 Students where addressed by Team Aarohi.

Continuing Technical Education:

In our endeavors to update the knowledge and skills of our staff on Transfusion Medicine we are conducting Monthly Technical Meetings where we learn a topic conducted by senior technician.

The Topics range from Donors Selection criteria, Camp SOPs, Blood Grouping to Blood Stock Management.

Team Aarohi Thanks All at GlobalGiving !

Your Support Makes our work Possible !
