Initiated by the China Association for NGO Cooperation, this project aims to promote the integration of climate change education into the national education system through the development of innovative textbooks and the implementation of teacher trainings. This project is dedicated to enhancing adolescents' awareness of mitigating and adapting to climate change and cultivating their ability to take action.
In the face of the global challenge of climate change, we need the wisdom and strength of the younger generation more than ever. Adolescents are the hope for the future and the backbone in addressing climate change. However, climate change is already affecting the health and development of adolescents. For adolescents, it is necessary and urgent to learn professional knowledge about climate change and master relevant skills for adapting to it.
The project will develop innovative climate change education textbooks tailored to China's educational conditions, organize teacher capacity building activities to build up the pool of school-based teaching resources, help teachers integrate the knowledge and skills gained from the training into their teaching and work practices. In addition, a climate change creativity competition will be launched for adolescents, encouraging them to transform awareness into action.
This project is committed to cultivating adolescents' ability to take effective actions against climate change and to adapt to it. It can bring climate issues into the vision of the next generation, enabling adolescents to master the knowledge and skills required to address climate change. Moreover, the actions of adolescents will influence those around them, driving families and communities to participate in actions to address climate change.
