My name is Mikey and I am GlobalGiving's Field Traveller for East Africa! My job is to visit GlobalGiving's amazing partners in the region, conduct fundraising workshops, and help form some strategic partnerships along the way. The aim of all this is to help these incredible nonprofits maximise their fundraising potential using all of the resources and opportunities GlobalGiving offers them. I will effectively be their support on the ground helping them continue and grow their brilliant work.
Although GlobalGiving has proven over the last 13 years that a great idea can come from anyone and anywhere, these local visionaries don't always have the tools and the knowledge to maximise their impact on the ground. An ever-shifting and increasingly competitive charitable global landscape can make it difficult for these local change-makers to choose the best avenue for fundraising, particularly as traditional methods are becoming increasingly redundant.
That's where GlobalGiving comes in! Our accessible and easy-to-use online fundraising platform connects these local non-profits to donors all around the world unlocking a huge potential source of revenue for these fantastic causes. Field Travellers like myself play a vital role in assisting this growing network of locally-run projects maximise their fundraising potential and have a greater impact on their community.
