Hello everyone!
Greetings from Thailand. Thank you for reading our update and for your support of the work that we are doing here. The last months have been busy here: After we finished the 5-month-long Tamar Vocational and Life Training with the graduation of our students it was time for a short break for our Staff. But a week after the training finished, the women that graduated started to work in their new jobs. We have two in the Hair Salon now, one in the Bakery and one in the Restaurant. They are learning more and more everyday and are becoming a good part of the team as you can see in the pictures attached.
We were also able to take in three more young women recently that still getting use to our programs. They are making good progress but due to their backgrounds it will not be an easy journey.
In September we also started an upgrade of our Drop-in Center in Soi 6. The electrical wiring needed complete replacement, we exchanged the 12-year-old aircon units with environmentally friendlier inverter machines, fixed a whole in the roof tile and invested in a fresh coat of paint for the whole inside of the building. The work is still ongoing, but you will soon be able to see pictures of the works in our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Otherwise, Christmas time is coming soon again and that brings with it some special training opportunities: Our women in the cardroom are learning to make different Christmas card-designs, learning new techniques for the cards, and working in a team to make our big Christmas nativity card. Our team in the bakery has already tried out different designs for Gingerbread Houses this year. We will bake them as Do-it-yourself sets this year, so that families that purchase them can just put the already baked pieces together and then decorate it as a family. Our Restaurant is also looking into ideas of cooking some festive special during this season. We hope that everyone will learn something new during this time.
Have a great day and thanks again for your continued support of our work here in Pattaya.
