Dear Friends and Supporters,
We sincerely appreciate the continued generosity and commitment of our donors and partners toward improving access to essential healthcare services at the Kabri-Chana Community Health Facility. Your support, regardless of the amount, continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families living in this remote and underserved community.
During the previous quarter, we appealed for additional support to enable us to hire an experienced midwife and procure an ultrasound scanning machine for the facility. Unfortunately, the donations received were not sufficient to achieve these important goals.
Despite this funding gap, we are encouraged that the modest donations received from our supporters, together with resources mobilized from other sources, have enabled us to sustain the essential healthcare services currently being provided at the facility. The health facility has remained operational, continuing to provide primary healthcare services to community members, including antenatal care, maternal and child health services, treatment of common illnesses, health education, and other basic healthcare services. Most importantly, the facility continues to receive and support pregnant women during childbirth. Maintaining these services in a hard-to-reach community such as Kabri-Chana is extremely important, as many families face significant geographical and financial barriers when seeking care from distant health facilities.
However, the absence of an experienced midwife remains a major concern. Skilled maternal healthcare is particularly important during pregnancy, childbirth, and the immediate postnatal period. Having a qualified and experienced midwife permanently available at the facility would significantly strengthen the quality and safety of maternal and newborn care being provided. The facility also continues to operate without an ultrasound scanning machine. Access to basic ultrasound services would strengthen antenatal care by supporting the assessment of pregnancies and helping healthcare workers identify women who may require further evaluation or timely referral to higher-level facilities.
For this reason, our two priority needs remain:
1. Hiring an experienced midwife to strengthen maternal and newborn healthcare services at the facility.
2. Procuring an ultrasound scanning machine to improve antenatal assessment and support the early identification and referral of high-risk pregnancies.
We are therefore once again calling on our donors, partners, and friends to continue supporting this project. While we have been able to sustain essential services with the limited resources available, additional funding is urgently needed to strengthen the facility's capacity and provide safer and more comprehensive maternal healthcare.
Every donation brings us closer to having a skilled midwife available for mothers and newborns and providing much-needed ultrasound services within the community. For families living in Kabri-Chana and surrounding hard-to-reach settlements, these services can make an important difference in accessing timely and appropriate healthcare. We remain deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this project. Your contributions have helped us keep the facility functioning and continue providing essential healthcare services despite the funding challenges.
With your continued support and partnership, we can do more.
Thank you for standing with the people of Kabri-Chana and helping us bring quality healthcare closer to those who need it most.
