No mother should risk her life traveling 30 miles on rough terrain to reach care. In Kabri-Chana, a remote Nigerian community of over 3,000 people, we built the first health facility to bring hope closer to home. Now, we urgently need a midwife, an ultrasound machine, and reliable telemedicine support to ensure safe deliveries, early detection of complications, and quality healthcare for mothers, babies, and families who would otherwise be left behind.
In Kabri-Chana, a remote community of 3,000 people, mothers face life-threatening risks because the nearest health facility is 30 miles away over dangerous terrain. The new community clinic lacks a midwife, ultrasound machine, and reliable internet for telemedicine. Without these, safe deliveries, early detection of complications, and timely referrals remain out of reach, leaving mothers and babies highly vulnerable.
This project will strengthen Kabri-Chana's only health facility by hiring a qualified midwife, providing an ultrasound machine for early diagnosis, and sustaining telemedicine through reliable internet. Together, these interventions will ensure safe deliveries, detect complications early, and connect local staff with specialists-bringing quality, lifesaving healthcare within reach for over 3,000 people.
With sustained staffing, diagnostic tools, and telemedicine, the Kabri-Chana Health Facility will serve as a reliable, community-owned hub for maternal and child health. This will drastically reduce preventable deaths, improve early referrals, and build trust in local healthcare. Over time, the project will empower more than 3,000 residents including women and children to live healthier lives, while creating a model of sustainable rural healthcare that can be replicated in other underserved comm
